Maryland CPA honored for office commute

Robert Aceituno, CPA and tax manager at Bethesda, Maryland-based firm Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell, recently rode off with a “Bicycle Commuter Spirit Award” for his healthy route into the office.

The award, presented by Bethesda Transportation Solutions and the Bethesda Urban Partnership during the city’s annual Bike to Work Day celebration, recognizes dedicated bicycle commuters in the community.

An avid cyclist for six years, Aceituno was first motivated to ride the 21.5 miles into work by traffic congestion and his own health and fitness goals. He continues to do so, with the help of D.C. and Bethesda’s bike friendly paths—and as weather permits.

“When I first learned about the award, I immediately thought Robert Aceituno should receive it,” stated CBM executive vice president Peter B. Reilly. “His dedication to living a healthy lifestyle and his enthusiasm for cycling are admirable.”
