Daszkal Bolton memorializes founder with education fund

South Florida CPA and consulting firm Daszkal Bolton has created the Jeffrey A. Bolton Children’s Education Fund in honor of cofounder Jeff Bolton, who died suddenly April 19, 2013 in a swimming accident in the Bahamas.

The firm and its partners have made an initial leadership gift of $25,000 toward the education of Bolton’s two children, and are encouraging contributions from his family, friends and community members.

In addition to his role as a business leader, Bolton was committed to numerous philanthropic causes, including those focused on helping children and eradicating cancer.

“We now all have a way to thank Jeff for touching our lives by helping his children Jason and Lexi,” said longtime friend and Daszkal Bolton co-founder Michael Daszkal in a statement. “We wanted to show our support for the Bolton family in their moment of grief by establishing this education fund for his children. We urge everyone who is able to give generously in honor of Jeff’s selfless dedication to charitable causes over the years.”

A managing partner of Daszkal Bolton’s Jupiter, Fla., office, Bolton was also nationally recognized as a “Pathfinder” by the American Institute of CPAs and a “Small Business Leader of the Year” by the Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce. His community roles included: serving with the South Florida Manufacturers Association as treasurer, board member and member of the executive committee; member of the Bone Marrow Foundation Board of Directors and Chairperson of the annual “Sports Legends” event; and corporate chair of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s “Light the Night Walk” for many years in honor of his son Jason’s fight with the disease.

In addition to children Jason and Lexi, Bolton is survived by his wife Mirka, his brother Brian Bolton, and his parents Joel and Barbara Bolton. The memorial service was held April 25th at Temple Torah in Boynton Beach.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family asks that donations be made to the Jeffrey A. Bolton Children’s Education Fund, 2401 N.W. Boca Raton Blvd., Boca Raton, FL 33431. Donations can also be made online at www.daszkalbolton.com, where more information on the Jeffrey A. Bolton Children’s Education Fund is also available.
