Engineered Tax Services paints school "read"

This summer, professional services firm Engineered Tax Services took a more colorful approach to their community outreach when adopting local Roosevelt Elementary School.

In addition to participating in the school's literacy program Roosevelt Rockets Reading Buddies, in which ETS staff members visit and read to students, the firm helped paint a mural on campus.

Employees from the firm’s West Palm Beach office joined volunteers from Omega Psi Phi’s West Palm Beach chapter and the mural designer, artist Eduardo Mendieta, in transforming the school courtyard.

The mural is a tribute to literacy, according to school principal Gloria Garrett, and portrays a young girl reading a book while rockets circle her head, representing imagination and referencing school’s Roosevelt Rockets mascot.

ETS’s inspiration to join the project came from the tragic events at Sandy Hook elementary, motivating staff to support a local school.
