All FAU '12 accounting program grads land jobs

All 23 graduates of the Florida Atlantic University Accounting Scholars Program will have jobs in their field after commencement, the school announced.

The program is a dual-degree, full-time day program, beginning in the students’ senior year. Upon completion, the students graduate with a bachelor’s degree, a master’s of accounting degree, and are eligible for the CPA exam.

The program emphasizes job placement, and in addition to the success rate for this year’s graduates, 80 percent of the program’s 24 undergraduate students have landed spring and summer internships.

Starting salaries for graduates average more than $50,000, according to the college.

“In its short history, the Accounting Scholars Program has developed an outstanding reputation of academic and professional excellence,” said Kimberly Dunn, Ph.D., director of the school of accounting, in a statement.  “I am extremely proud of the tremendous success of our students and alumni.”
