Friedman awards annual entrepreneurship scholarship

New York City CPA firm Friedman announced Alexis Casamassima as the recipient of their second annual Friedman LLP Entrepreneurship Scholarship.

The scholarship, awarded annual to a FIT student enrolling in the two-year entrepreneurship program, aims to encourage the growth of students with a passion for fashion and design and the goal to lead a successful business.

Casamassima, a full-time student at the Fashion Institute of Technology, is earning a bachelor’s degree in entrepreneurship with a minor in economics. After graduating, she hopes to go to either law or business school to help entrepreneurs in the fashion industry start and develop their businesses.

"We are proud to continue our scholarship program with FIT's entrepreneurship program and to support a future industry leader like Alexis," stated Friedman fashion services partner Harriet Greenberg. "This is just one of the many ways we are fulfilling our commitment to education, entrepreneurship and the industry's next generation."

"The Friedman LLP scholarship supports FIT's vision to help ensure the future of the industry in New York City by providing high-level education in the business of fashion and design," stated Steven Frumkin, dean of FIT's Jay and Patty Baker School of Business and Technology.  "What is unique about the FIT students is their remarkable creativity and drive, and this gift offers even greater opportunity for an affordable education."
