Gumbiner Savett supports Indian Film Festival of L.A.

Santa Monica, Calif.-based CPA and business advisory firm Gumbiner Savett announced it will be sponsoring the annual Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles for the fifth consecutive year April 8-13.

Several staff members will also be attending evening and weekend events and screenings during the 12th annual festival.

“It’s a great way to de-stress from a heavy day of work,” stated Shreedhar Kothari, a shareholder at Gumbiner Savett Inc. and a board member and treasurer of the festival. “The firm has always supported the interests of its shareholders and staff, so when I was looking for a nonprofit to become more involved in, they supported my decision due to my love of Indian cinema.”

Kothari, who was born and raised in India, focuses on managing and raising money for the IFFLA with his role on the board.

“IFFLA and the excellent films they showcase, offers me a chance to stay in touch with the type of movies I grew up with and love, even though I live In Los Angeles,” Kothari added.

Gumbiner Savett also works with several entertainment industry clients.

“Shree’s participation in the festival allows staff to understand the importance of getting involved in the community when you are a business leader,” says Michael Savoy, the firm’s managing director. “Finding something that blends your business acumen with a passion is the key.”
