Two members of Arizona firm honored for community service

Arizona CPA and business advisory firm Henry & Horne recently congratulated a partner and director of human resources for their receipt of two awards.

Partner Mark Eberle won the Frank W. Hodges Alumni Award from Scottsdale Leadership for his contribution to the community.

Eberle has been a member of Scottsdale Leadership, which teaches servant leadership and community trusteeship to more than 800 graduates of its core program, since 1992.

“It is a great honor to receive the Hodges Award and I am truly humbled,” Eberle stated. “Scottsdale Leadership has been a rewarding partnership since the beginning of my career. Through community involvement and networking, I have built strong lifelong bonds and relationships with some of Scottsdale’s top community leaders.”

Director of human resources Lari Braun was also honored, with the Ann Byrnes SPHR Award for Professional Excellence at the annual Arizona Society for Human Resource Management conference.

Braun was one of seven Arizona nominees for the award, which recognizes professional excellence in the human resource management profession. She was chosen based on her teaching at DeVry University’s Keller Graduate School of Management and her volunteerism in the HR community.

Braun has served as the state’s SHRM Foundation director for the past three years, raising funds to support research, scholarships and grants. She coordinated a silent auction at the state conference this year that raised a record-breaking $3,000 for the SHRM Foundation.
