Illinois CPA Society names 2014 "Women to Watch" award winners

The Illinois CPA Society will honor three of its members with the 10thannual "Women to Watch" awards, recognizing contributions made to both the accounting profession and the development of women as leaders.

Angela Hickey and Kristie Paskvan will receive the "Women to Watch" award under the Experienced Leader category. Hickey serves as the executive director of Chicago law firm Levenfeld Pearlstein, while Paskvan is CFO of Mesirow Financial and president of the firm's retirement plan advisory business.

Annie Kolman receives the "Women to Watch" award under the Emerging Leader category, serving as an assurance senior manager at Ernst & Young.

“Angela, Kristie and Annie represent an emerging trend among CPAs," said Todd Shapiro, president and CEO of the Illinois CPA Society, in a statement. "The CPA credential is now looked upon for guidance and stewardship in businesses and communities. Each of these women has set an example of hard work and community spirit we all admire.”

The "Women to Watch" awards are a joint partnership between the Illinois CPA Society’s Women’s Executive Committee and AICPA Women’s Initiatives Executive Committee to recognize and celebrate women who have promoted a work environment that provides opportunities for the successful integration of their personal and professional lives and the advancement of women to positions of leadership.

The award recipients will be honored at the Illinois CPA Society’s Women’s Leadership Breakfast on Thursday, November 13 where they will also take part in a panel discussion about balancing work and life, supervising multiple generations, and supporting the advancement of women in the accounting profession.
