Blending family, fun, business and the beach!

[IMGCAP(1)]You read the title of this blog correctly. It’s true. You can combine all of the above. In fact, you should try it over the July 4th holiday. Pack up the family and join me and many other accounting professionals at the Maryland Society of CPAs’ event in Ocean City, Md. Jason Blumer and I are tag teaming two high-energy sessions (we can’t do it any other way!). We’ll discuss what it’s like to lead old and new-thinking firms and how to bring old-school practices into the future. I will also offer a live digital workflow mapping session.

The event promises to be educational and fun. Plus, it’s a tax travel deduction. Hey, I didn’t get that MST for nothing.

The event promises to be very informative. But the coolest part, in my humble opinion, is that it is exceptionally family-friendly. The next generation of leaders (that’s us!) has young kiddos that need our attention and love to see what mom and dad do for a living.

Let’s face it, the majority of us are working parents, so it’s nearly impossible to keep our personal and professional lives separate anymore. With this in mind, the Maryland event truly meets our needs—take the kids to the beach in the morning, then swing by for an afternoon session. No doubt your spouse or partner will love the scenery as well!

I'm pretty stoked about getting to spend time with my peers and my family...and meeting yours for that matter! Oh, and if you need a babysitter, my twelve-year-old daughter said she is available.
