KPMG tees off “Where is the Blue Hat Taking You?" photo contest

KPMG, in its capacity as official hat sponsor of golfers Phil Mickelson and Stacy Lewis, recently launched a “Where is the Blue Hat Taking You?” photo contest, an interactive Twitter campaign to raise awareness and support efforts to help eradicate childhood illiteracy.

Today through May 29, fans can submit photos featuring the blue KPMG hats of Mickelson or Lewis by tweeting images with either the #PhilsBlueHat or #StacysBlueHat hashtag. The contest winners will receive a trip to either the men’s or women’s 2014 U.S. Open in Pinehurst, N.C.

Available for purchase at PhilsBlueHat.com or StacysBlueHat.com, the blue KPMG hats are the foundation for the Blue for Books program, begun in March 2012 as part of KPMG’s Family for Literacy corporate citizenship program. The program donates 100 percent of the net proceeds to First Book, a nonprofit that provides three new books to children from low-income families for each hat sold.

"Phil and Stacy have been great supporters of KFFL and our fight against childhood illiteracy," stated John Veihmeyer, KPMG chairman and CEO. "Golf fans have the opportunity to support Phil and Stacy as well as contribute to this important cause when they purchase their own blue hats and that's a win-win for everyone involved."

Photo submissions will be open and available for viewing at KPMG's golf sponsorship website from May 8 through May 29. Starting June 2, the top nine submissions will be featured on the website where fans can vote for the winning photo via Twitter. The contest winner will be announced June 9.

The prize includes a trip for two including airfare, accommodations and two tickets for Saturday and Sunday to either the men's or women's 2014 U.S. Open. Complete contest details can be found on KPMG.com/Golf or by following @MickelsonHat  or @StacyLewis_KPMG.
