NJSCPA gives Day of Service to Superstorm Sandy recovery

As the Northeast continues to recover from Superstorm Sandy, the New Jersey Society of CPAs dedicated its Day of Service to the cause April 27, along with family and friends across the state.

The group’s efforts included clearing debris in Manahawkin, cleaning up marshes in Brick, and refurbishing a home in Moonachie.

“We were amazed at the debris we found: mattresses, plywood, clothing, even rooftops,” stated CPA Margaret Van Brunt, a Long Island homeowner who pitched in after suffering her own damage. “We met a lot of great people who were willing to help.”
