EY contributes more than 100,000 volunteer hours during 2015 'Connect Day'

EY recently held their 6th annual Connect Day, the organization’s yearly day of service for the firm's professionals. This year's efforts featured more than 15,000 volunteers contributing more than 100,000 hours of charity - the highest contribution yet.

More than 60 EY offices of across the Americas participated - including Aruba, Colombia, Paraguay and Brazil, who participated in Connect Day for the first time. The day allows EY professionals the opportunity to spend the day away from the office, helping out in classrooms, community centers, and other non-profits.

“EY Connect Day brings our people together with their colleagues and with their community, helping to achieve our purpose of building a better working world through myriad activities including mentoring, career readiness, and developing young entrepreneurs,” said Deborah K. Holmes, EY Americas director of corporate responsibility.

“We’re proud that our US firm offices received overwhelming support from mayors across the country, too," she continued. "From Sacramento to Boston, Las Vegas to Philadelphia and down to San Antonio, more mayors proclaimed an official ‘EY Day’ than ever before.”
