The session looks to focus on opportunities for practitioners to teach at the collegiate level and the qualifications required. The webinar is set to feature accounting faculty who have made the transition into academia, discussing how they landed their first teaching opportunities and the steps necessary to prepare for teaching. Attendees will be able to participate in a Q + A session with the panelists.
In recent years, colleges and universities across the U.S. are turning to CPAs and accounting professionals to fill important teaching roles in the classroom. Due to a shortage of accounting PhD’s, there are numerous opportunities for experienced accounting professionals in public accounting, industry, or government to pursue a second career in academia.
The webinar will be moderated by D. Scott Showalter, Professor of Practice at North Carolina State University. Panelists will include:
