Registration open for 2015 AICPA Leadership Academy

TheAICPA announced on Wednesday that the application period for the2015 Leadership Academyis now open. The Leadership Academy, now entering its seventh year, will be held in Chapel Hill, NC from October 4 -8 later this year.

The Leadership Academy is open to licensed CPAs who are voting members of the AICPA, have more than three years of experience in the profession, and are between the ages of 25 and 35. 

Over the course of four days, Academy candidates will participate in interactive sessions designed to teach strategic planning techniques and develop personal skills – including communication and delegation - for handling complex management challenges. Leadership Academy attendees will essentially train to become leaders within their organization, community, and the CPA profession.

The AICPA Leadership Academy was established to inspire, nurture, and empower the next generation of CPA leaders by providing them with advanced leadership training, access to well-connected professional networks, and opportunities to exercise leadership within the profession. Almost 200 CPAs have participated in the Leadership Academy to date.

To apply, candidates must submit their resumes, licensure information, professional volunteer activities, awards and honors, as well as an essay explaining why participating in the Leadership Academy would be important to them. The application deadline is May 31, 2015.
