Texas Society of CPAs honor John Sharbaugh as 2015-2016 honorary member

John Sharbaugh, executive director and CEO of theTexas Society of CPAs (TSCPA)and one of Accounting Today’s 100 Most Influential People, was recently announced as a 2015-2016 honorary member of the Society. The award is presented to those eligible not for regular TSCPA membership, but have nonetheless distinguished themselves within the profession on a statewide level.

[IMGCAP(1)]Sharbaugh was honored atTSCPA’s Annual Meeting of Membersin Galveston on July 1. He has served as TSCPA’s CEO and executive director since 2000. Prior to the TSCPA, Sharbaugh held positions at the AICPA, the North Carolina Association of CPAs and the Florida Institute of CPAs. He additionally held leadership roles in the CPA Society Executives Association, the American Society of Association Executives and the Texas Society of Association Executives, where he served as chairman from 2011-2012. 

The Texas Society of CPAs is a nonprofit, voluntary organization which contains 20 statewide local chapters overseeing nearly 28,000 members, representing one of the largest in-state memberships of any CPA society in the United States.
