ParenteBeard introduces sustainability practice

Regional CPA and business advisory firm ParenteBeard has launched a sustainability practice that will work with clients to create and further green initiatives.

In addition to establishing strategy and assuring the current sustainability measures of clients, ParenteBeard will also work with them to create sustainability and corporate social responsibility reports.

Cynthia Wollman joins the firm to lead the practice following her previous role as vice president of new business development at CRW Graphics, where she implemented sustainability strategies. Wollman is also an adjunct professor at Philadelphia University, where she teaches Global Reporting Index measures and how to use them for sustainable practices that increase organizational effectiveness.

“Clients are interested in improving the value they offer customers and increasing revenue and profit through sustainability,” said Wollman in a statement. “Our practice will advance the message that long-term sustainability is driven by corporate responsibility.”

The team’s areas of focus will include operational and environmental assessments, the triple bottom line assessment (people, planet and profit), and establishing the organization’s key performance indicators. While the practice will serve all sectors, there will be a particular focus on healthcare providers and corporate and educational institution clients.

"Initiating a sustainability practice—and the arrival of Cindy Wollman as its leader—is an excellent example of ParenteBeard’s strategic growth plan,” said Chief Executive Bob Ciaruffoli in a statement. “As the sustainability practice develops what we expect to be a stellar reputation in the business community, Cindy will be a strong asset to the ParenteBeard team, as she supports our firm’s values and principles and has the in-depth experience to lead this important service for our clients.”
