Pennsylvania firm takes St. Patty’s Day Plunge to benefit YMCA

Six employees of Pennsylvania CPA and consulting firm Herbein + Company traded green for blue St. Patrick’s Day weekend by jumping in the lake to benefit the local YMCA.

As part of the St. Patty’s Day Plunge for Kids March 19 that benefitted the YMCA of Berks County, the firm set out to achieve $1,500, and agreed that for every dollar goal reached, an additional employee would jump.

Herbein + Company raised $2,628, which sent Chief Operating Officer Mike Rowley, partners Bob Firely and Jim Michalak, manager Wayne Gehris, supervisor Derek Rabold and intern Pawel Kolenda into Blue Marsh Lake.

The firm’s “Mad Men” team won the Pot of Gold trophy for raising the most money, which will go to supporting the YMCA’s youth programs for the Berks County community.
