Rea & Associates honors principal with memorial scholarship

Regional Ohio CPA and consulting firm Rea & Associates has established a memorial scholarship in tribute to late principal Marcia L. Stutzman, in conjunction with the firm’s foundation and managed by the Holmes County Education Foundation.

The Marcia L. Stutzman Memorial Scholarship honors Stutzman, a principal and 23-year employee of the firm who died in January at the age 43 from Leiomyosarcoma. It is available to graduating seniors with demonstrated financial need who intend to pursue a major in accounting, finance or business administration, with a preference to female candidates.

The scholarship was endowed with a contribution of $14,500 from Rea & Associates employees and a match of $12,500 from the Rea Foundation, with future contributions welcome.

"I can think of no better way to honor Marcia than through this scholarship," stated Michael Taylor, a colleague and close friend of Stutzman's at Rea & Associates’ Millersburg office. "I'm touched that our team stepped up to help make this scholarship possible."

The application and selection process for the scholarship, which will be a minimum of $500 and a maximum of $1,000 annually, will be managed by the Holmes County Community Foundation.
