SS&G Golf Classic raises funds for Alzheimer's Association

Regional CPA firm SS&G raised more than $26,000 June 21 for its 14th Annual memorial Golf Classic benefiting the Cleveland and Greater East Ohio Area chapters of the Alzheimer’s Association.

The golf outing, which takes place at the Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio, was created in 1997 in honor of Marvin Shamis, founder of the firm.

“The fight against Alzheimer’s is a cause that is near to our hearts, so it was moving to see my colleagues come out and support this great organization,” said Managing Director Mark Goldfarb in a statement.

Proceeds from the event are divided equally between the two Alzheimer Association chapters.

Since it began, the Memorial Golf Classic has raised more than $350,000 in support of research and care for those living with Alzheimer’s disease.
