WNDE exceeds last year's St. Baldrick's fundraising efforts

Twelve employees of Irvine, Calif.-based accounting firm White Nelson Diehl Evans recently raised $1,830 for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, which battles cancer that afflicts children and adults.

Soliciting donations from family, friends and colleagues, the firm’s participants topped its 2012 effort.

“We’re excited that we were able to surpass our total from last year,” said WNDE senior audit associate and leader of the effort Baru Sanchez, in a statement. “Our goal is not only to raise funds to find a cure for cancer, but also to raise awareness of this disease that touches the lives of so many.”

In addition to this fundraiser, the firm also participates in “Movember,” a month-long November event when men grow mustaches to raise money to fight prostate cancer and other cancers that effect men. WNDE hopes to establish both annual events a firm tradition, according to Sanchez.

Participants in the St. Baldrick fundraiser were: Sean Thorstenson, Thomas Miyano, Kyle Goetz, Michael Gilgren, Stephen Cahill, Aaron Gonzales, Jesse Pattison, Damon Haroutunian, Bryan Heredia, Douglas Parker and Connor Kirby.

Additional donations to the effort are welcome, by contacting Sanchez at 714-978-1300, ext. 269 or bsanchez@wndecpa.com.
