CPACA Releases Succession Planning Video and Study

The CPA Consultants' Alliance has produced an animated video to accompany a research study on CPA firms’ challenges when their leaders contemplate succession planning.

CPACA released a white paper last year on the CPA profession’s current and future leadership opportunities and challenges. This year, the group plans to provide educational tools and resources to help CPAs further explore these issues.

On Thursday, CPACA released an animated video using Xtranormal text-to-movie technology, which generates somewhat robotic-seeming characters and voices, to explain some of the concepts in a humorous (yet slightly creepy) way.

The video highlights the importance of communication, one of the main opportunities identified in CPACA’s white paper. The video is intended to emphasize the importance of planning for the imminent leadership transition that’s already starting to occur in the accounting profession.

You can check out the video on YouTube here, which was produced by CPA and stand-up comedian Greg Kyte.

Let us know if you agree the two characters bear a passing resemblance to actors Steve Carell and Vince Vaughn.
