Accounting firm Carr, Riggs & Ingram is getting into the star-marking business with its new blog, “Creating Stars.”
While it’s probably not going to give the William Morris Agency or American Idol much competition for now, the new blog is mainly intended to provide a showcase for the firm and inform readers of current events and some relevant financial issues. Among the early posts on the blog are the effects on the construction industry from recent legislation, an update on the use of flexible spending account and health reimbursement account debit cards, a banking compliance calendar, YouTube videos on the Gulf oil spill featuring partner Steve Riggs and on service organization controls with CRI scholar in residence Tommie Singleton, advice on fraud control, tips on taking advantage of the extended federal R&D tax credit, and the IRS’s new smartphone app IRS2Go.
