Paychex Offers Advice on Obamacare Employer Shared Responsibility Payment

Payroll service provider Paychex has released an infographic on detailing the steps that employers should take now to prepare for the employer shared responsibility payment under the Affordable Care Act, and the potential costs to employers who fail to act.

The infographic was released in honor of Small Business Saturday, held on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, as a day to celebrate and show support for small businesses.

“When you take into consideration the one-year delay of ESR, add to it the start of the busy holiday season and the end of the calendar year, and it’s not surprising it has fallen to the bottom of the priority list for many business owners as they do their best to keep up with seasonal demands,” said Paychex president and CEO Martin Mucci in a statement. “But in reality, the delay of ESR gives employers the time needed to take an in-depth look at their situation, and make the necessary preparations to be ready for Jan. 1, 2015. Failing to take action now could cost employers in the long run.”

The new infographic is available for download and embedding on Web pages at http://buildmybiz.com/material/employer-shared-responsibility/.
