Honkamp Krueger & Co., an Iowa accounting firm, has been running a hilarious series of radio ads and Internet videos spoofing the Dos Equis “Most Interesting Man in the World” ad campaign.

The ads, which instead feature the “Most Uninteresting Man in the World,” showcase various accountants at the firm and describe their mundane activities (“at parties he pretends to text when in fact he is simply playing with his phone’s calculator”) and end with the slogan, “Stay profitable, my friends,” set against the accompaniment of a flamenco guitar.

If you watch the videos, which the firm has uploaded to YouTube and recently called to our attention, you’ll notice a sly reference at about the 4:40 mark to Accounting Today magazine: “His mother once found an issue of Accounting Today tucked underneath his mattress.”

Hard to understand how our magazine ended up there!
