CAQ Debuts Web Video Series

The Center for Audit Quality has premiered an online video series, “Profession in Focus," featuring interviews with leaders in the profession, starting with Deloitte’s new CEO, Cathy Engelbert.

The series is hosted by CAQ executive director Cindy Fornelli, who also plans to interview other leaders from the auditing profession, as well as the world of corporate governance, the investor community, the regulatory arena, academia, and other important constituencies with a connection to the financial reporting process.

“It is an exciting and transformative time for the public company auditing profession,” Fornelli said in a statement. “Profession in Focus will serve as another vehicle for the profession and the CAQ to engage with key stakeholders and further the dialogue.”

The inaugural episode of Profession in Focus is available here and below. In the episode, Engelbert, the first female chief executive of a large, global accounting and advisory firm, sat down with Fornelli to share her views on leadership. “When you think about leadership styles, for me it was about being collaborative, in a competitive way,” Engelbert told Fornelli. “I grew up one of eight children—so I had to really 'compete' around the household, and I think that has carried through to my professional life. I also played sports in college, and that has taught me how important it is to be a leader and role model for your team. In our profession, it is our responsibility to lead our team and clients—and essentially make an impact on them.”
