John Oliver Gets Michael Bolton to Sing a Song for the IRS

Comedian John Oliver, host of the HBO series, “Last Week Tonight,” defended the Internal Revenue Service on his show Sunday evening, with the assistance of singer Michael Bolton.

Oliver did a hilarious segment on the overworked and widely abused agency and then brought on Bolton to sing an ode to the IRS entitled, “How Am I Supposed to Live Without You?”

Oliver pointed out that the people to blame for the overly complicated and ever-changing Tax Code are the lawmakers in Congress. He also noted the aging demographic of many IRS employees. “It’s true,” he said. “Most IRS employees are over age 50 and less than 1 percent are under 25 and that does not bode well for the IRS because a government agency should not have the same age ratio as an Eric Clapton concert.”
