South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley Declares CPA Day

It’s official. Governor Nikki Halley has declared May 6 to be CPA Day in South Carolina.

The Palmetto State is finally recognizing the value that CPAs provide to clients and the business community, and Governor Haley has now signed a proclamation to that effect honoring the profession.

On top of that, both the South Carolina Association of CPAs and the South Carolina Board of Accountancy will be honored in the chamber of the S.C. House of Representatives with a joint resolution in recognition of the 100th anniversary of the accounting profession in our state.

May 6 also marks CPA Day at the State House, at an event co-sponsored by SCACPA and SCBOA. The newest members of the profession will be honored during a New CPA Oath Ceremony at the State House.

The event will also give CPAs from across the state an opportunity to interact with legislators and advocate for issues of importance to them.

“For 100 years, South Carolina CPAs have served the citizens of the Palmetto State,” said SCACPA CEO Erin Pate in a statement. “It is only fitting that they be recognized for their contributions and service, especially as we mark our centennial year.”
