Disclosure Rules & Code 7216
In 2009, new IRS regulations guarding the disclosure and use of tax payer information took effect under code 7216. These regulations were designed to address electronic filing, cross-marketing of financial and commercial products, and refund anticipation loans. While CPAs may think they understand these new regulations, certain restrictions are complicated and failure to comply with these rules can result in severe penalties. This interactive, on-line seminar will present learners with real-life scenarios in which new regulations could be violated and will also walk learners, step-by step, through the process of drafting consent forms and obtaining the proper consent from tax payers.
