Monika P. Miles, CPA, has been elected president of the American Society of Women Accountants for 2011-2012

Miles, who is president and co-founder of San Jose-based state tax consulting firm Labhart Miles Consulting Group Inc., has been involved in the organization for almost 20 years. She will also join the group's 17-member Board of Directors.

"I am honored to lead this prestigious organization for the next year," Miles said. "I look forward to further engaging accounting and finance professionals at all levels of their careers as we continue to make ASWA the premier organization for advancing careers in the field through our educational resources, networking opportunities, and leadership and career advancement programs."

Founded in 1938, the ASWA provides leadership, education and networking opportunities to women in accounting and finance.
