BDO Appoints Chief Human Resource Officer, Chief People Officer

BDO USA LLP has made two C-level appointments. Cathy Moy, who is an assurance managing partner for the firm's Boston practice, has been appointed to the newly created role of chief people officer, and Donna Comerford, formerly with Deloitte Consulting, will be joining the firm as chief human resource officer.

As CPO, Moy will report directly to BDO’s CEO Wayne Berson and will work with the firm's leadership team to continue to build a culture focused on supporting professionals and providing an environment where employees can thrive. She will focus much of her efforts on the firm's strategies to attract and retain the best people.

In 2012, Moy was recognized by Working Mother magazine as a "Working Mother of the Year" for her leadership in promoting diversity and work+life fit at BDO.

A graduate of Boston College, Moy will continue to serve as the assurance managing partner for the firm's Boston practice, but will reduce her client service responsibilities to ensure time for her new role.

Comerford joins BDO from Deloitte Consulting where she worked as a national human resources leader for the firm's technology service. She has more than 25 years of experience in professional services working in employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, recruiting, deployment, international mobility, succession planning and compensation.

At BDO, Comerford will be responsible for the technical areas of HR, focusing her efforts on programs, processes and the firm's five HR centers of excellence – Total Rewards, Training & Development, Talent Acquisition, HR Operations and HR Information Systems. She will report directly to Cathy Moy.

Comerford received her BS in business from Northern Illinois University and her MBA from DePaul University.
