Mayer Hoffman McCann Appoints Two New Shareholders

Janet OíNeill and Catherine Latham are the newest shareholders at Mayer Hoffman McCann PC.

The two are members of the firmís Tofias New England Division and located in the Boston office.

Janet OíNeill

As a member of the firmís not-for-profit audit practice, OíNeill has extensive experience providing audit and consulting services to the not-for-profit industry, including the health and human services, education, and cultural sectors. She manages financial statement audits and offers recommendations on internal controls, operations and accounting issues.

OíNeill is an expert in regulatory and reimbursement issues for various types of agencies, including nursing homes, home health organizations, Chapter 766 schools, adult day health centers, social service organizations and other human service providers. She also has experience with A-133, and is a leader in the firmís A-133 specialty group.

OíNeill, who is also a licensed CPA in Massachusetts, has been recognized in the social and human services industry as an expert on regulatory reporting issues and requirements and has been a featured speaker at various workshops and seminars. She is also a member of the AICPA and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants.

OíNeill also serves on the Providers Council Business Practices Committee, the Massachusetts Association of 766 Approved Private Schools Contracts and Reimbursements Committee and the Pope John High School Audit Committee. OíNeill received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Merrimack College.

Catherine Latham

Latham works with closely-held businesses in various industries including professional services, manufacturing, distribution and retail. She provides a range of services including audits and reviews of financial statements and consulting on various matters. Latham is also a member of the firms Employee Benefit Plan Audit practice and conducts audits for various types of retirement plans for both for-profit and not-for-profit entities.

Latham is a frequent instructor within the firmís National Level Training program responsible for teaching a range of technical and soft skill courses. She is an ex-officio member of the firmís Audit Methodology Steering Committee, a group responsible for developing and overseeing the methodology and practice aids to be used when conducting attest engagements. Within the New England division, she is a member of the technology committee, oversees the mentor program within the audit department, publishes a monthly employee newsletter and actively participates in the firmís recruiting efforts.

Latham is a licensed CPA in the state of Massachusetts and a member of both the AICPA and Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants. At Salem University she is an adjunct faculty member within the Bertolon School of Business. Latham received her Master of Business Administration degree from Suffolk University and Bachelor of Science degree from Salem State College.
