Whitley Penn Hires Reeves as COO

James Reeves has joined Whitley Penn as chief operating officer in the Fort Worth office.

Reeves joined Whitley Penn after a 26-year career with Thomson Reuters Inc. He most recently held the position of vice president for the Professional Market.

“Jim’s knowledge and experience in the accounting profession is a great asset for Whitley Penn,” Larry Autrey, managing partner for Whitley Penn, said in statement. “Having public accounting and industry experience allows him to view growth, development and client service from different perspectives. We look forward to Jim’s leadership within the firm as we continue to grow and expand our presence.”

Over the years he took on the roles of operating, strategic, management, and leadership positions, in the Tax and Accounting Division where he was responsible for growth strategy, new product development, product management, and revenue attainment for the operating unit’s largest customer segment.

Reeves also served as site executive for the Fort Worth location of Thomson Reuters, representing senior management to 330 local employees. His career also includes public accounting experience having worked at Price Waterhouse & Co., Henry and Peters, P.C., and Bryant and Welborn CPAs.

Reeves earned his Bachelor of Business Administration and Masters of Business Administration degrees from Baylor University. He is an active member of the AICPA, the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, and a past president of the Fort Worth Chapter of the TSCPA.
