The United States has concluded tax treaties with more than 65 countries. Treaties impact nearly every aspect of cross-border business, including the threshold of activity required to assert taxing jurisdiction, the rates of withholding tax applied to cross-border payments, the tax treatment of certain types of entities and the information to be disclosed among treaty partners. This live audio conference will explain how to determine a client’s eligibility for treaty benefits, the operation of certain commonly found treaty provisions, and the forms U.S. and foreign taxpayers must complete to obtain treaty benefits.
