Armanino, San Ramon, announced the return of its annual Nonprofit Symposium, a half-day forum that will be in Los Angeles on May 18 at the Montage Beverly Hills and in San Francisco on May 23 at the Hyatt Regency, featuring (continuing professional education-credit) sessions to help nonprofit leaders strategize solutions to overcome operational and policy challenges.

ILLINOIS

Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, Chicago, released a Contract Management Benchmarks Report, which discovered, among other findings, that 92 percent of federal government professionals report effective contract management as critical to their company’s success. The report is based on a survey of approximately 250 contracting professionals at all levels of experience. Sikich, Naperville, was ranked as one of the largest privately held companies in Chicago on the annual list from Crain’s Chicago Business, generating $146.4 million in revenue in 2016, a 26.5 increase from 2015 that moved them up 15 spots on the list to 234.

MICHIGAN

Cohen & Co., Cleveland, announced the opening of its eighth location, an office in downtown Detroit, a nearly 5,500-square-foot space at the Chrysler House on 719 Griswold Street.

RSM US is investing $2.2 million to relocate its Southfield office to Detroit, which will create 50 jobs, and the location was chosen over competing sites in Illinois and Indiana.

NETHERLANDS

CohnReznick established a new European subsidiary, CohnReznick Netherlands B.V., based in The Hague and serving real estate, private equity, and life sciences businesses. The subsidiary will be led by Marc Altena, who was appointed EMEA advisory services leader.

PORTUGAL

Nobre Guedes, Mota Soares & Associados, a law firm serving public and private entities, has joined international professional services entity Andersen Global as a member firm, adopting the name Andersen Tax & Legal.

SWEDEN

Nygardens Revision AB, Örebro, has joined global accounting association INPACT.

WISCONSIN

Kuesel Consulting, Fox Point, has partnered with the Illinois CPA Society and the Minnesota Society of CPAs to produce its business development academy for members of both state associations. The program includes six half-day sessions covering topics in client development and cross-serving, referral source development, networking, personal brand building, prospect development and more.
