Ernst & Young LLP has relocated its Palo Alto office to Redwood Shores, in part to be at the center of the Bay Area's life sciences community. The new space features modern workstations; instead of cubicles, most staff members will share communal tables designed for collaboration, while other staff will share large offices to encourage teamwork. The space will house 200 professionals. ... Financial software provider BlackLine Systems has been named to Inc. Magazine's 2011 Inc. 500/5000 list of the fastest-growing private companies for the fourth year in a row. The company has grown its sales by 352 percent over the past three years, and ranked No. 876 in the list overall, No. 80 in the software industry sector, and No. 63 in the Los Angeles region.

Kaufman, Rossin & Co., Miami, is one of the organizers of the SeaTweetup Cruise, an ocean-going gathering of the South Florida social media community that will set sail on Nov. 18 from Miami to the Bahamas. ... Kaufman Rossin Fund Services, Miami, was ranked among the top 10 hedge fund administrators in Global Custodian's 16th annual survey of hedge fund clients, marking its fourth consecutive appearance in the top 10. KRFS received an overall score of 6.74 on a seven-point scale.

NEW YORK

Marcum LLP and the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University have released the key findings of an inaugural study of the U.S. fragrance industry. The study, which will be published in a three-part series in Perfumer & Flavorist magazine starting this month, is based on a survey of 70 companies, and found that the largest fragrance companies are most impacted by volatile commodity prices, and that U.S. market growth is being driven largely by acquisition and consolidation, while growth outside the U.S. is driven by innovation. ... Ernst & Young released two reports, its 2011 Proxy Season Update and "How sustainability has expanded the CFO's role." The first notes, among other things, that social and environmental resolutions comprised 40 percent of all shareholder proposals in 2011, up from 30 percent in 2010. The second outlines five actions that chief financial officers can take to enhance corporate value through sustainability.
