Cosmi Corp. introduced a consumer tax prep package to compete with Intuit's TurboTax and H&R Block's TaxCut, with the help of CCH tax experts providing information and support.
CompleteTax sells for $29.95 and includes free electronic filing, forms for state and federal returns, anti-spyware and a tax organizer checklist program.
The software automatically checks for any mistakes or oversights, and offers technical support via phone, e-mail and online chat from CCH, as well as a searchable tax guide. Also included are a glossary of tax terms and a program that lets investors automate capital gains calculations and import the information into CompleteTax.
In other CCH news, the company announced that its CCH Accounting Research Manager has added a module called Knowledge-Based Audits of Health Care Organizations. It includes audit programs, practice aids, correspondence document templates for engagement letters and confirmation requests, and auditor's report templates.
