Cabinet NG Upgrades CNG-SAFE Doc Management

Document management software provider Cabinet NG has released the latest version of its flagship product, CNG-SAFE 6.0, designed for small and midsized businesses with two to 500 users.

The new version of CNG-SAFE (Shared Access Filing Environment) includes enhanced security for better data protection and compliance. User logins are authenticated and granted specific access privileges using secure Windows services.

Tracking history now offers a trace function, which is consolidated into one informational screen to view all routing and access history, at the folder and individual document levels. Document versioning can be enabled at the document, cabinet or global level to automatically preserve a history of document edits.

"The new look-and-feel allows the user to customize the interface to meet their needs," said James True, vice president of business development for Cabinet NG. "Heavily used preferences can be displayed on a single screen for immediate access to pertinent information, which will improve efficiency."

CNG-SAFE 6.0's user interface offers greater flexibility by allowing individual users to display documents and other system information based on their custom layout. User preferences allow various items to be displayed or not displayed as desired. Users can now open multiple documents from multiple folders and cabinets simultaneously.

Cabinet NG's patent-pending Retriever technology works with most Windows-based database applications. "Eighty percent of these improvements are end-user driven," True said. "Incorporating technology advances account for 20 percent."

A complete system for a two-user office starts at $2,500 - including remote installation and training to assist firms in getting the system up and running, tech support, maintenance and online training for the first year. CNG-SAFE 6.0 also supports a View Only license that costs $495 per seat. CNG-SAFE 6.0 is available for purchase directly from Cabinet NG or through resellers nationwide.
