Adaptive Planning Adds Collaboration

Adaptive Planning has added team collaboration and the sharing of best practices to the latest version of its business performance management software.

Adaptive Planning 5.0 facilitates collaboration and discussion within financial teams by providing features for discussion groups, online documents, shared attachments, project management and search. Capabilities include a searchable repository of knowledge associated with budgets, forecasts and reports, along with an auditable archive of planning and reporting interactions.

The software also includes a financial best practices community that allows financial professionals to connect with each other, share their best practices in financial management, exchange recommendations for optimizing financial processes and access benchmarking information. The community offers access to product support and specialized partner content.

Other new features include modeled sheets for multidimensional modeling. "Customers can do multidimensional reporting and customize the sheets more easily," said Adaptive Planning CEO William Soward.

The upgrade also includes greater flexibility for allocating personnel and other expenses across projects, funds, programs and similar categories. Global sheets and report-modeling capabilities allow departments to work together more closely by enabling secure access to information outside of organizational hierarchies. An updated user interface and internationalization support provide for greater configurability.

The application is sold via the software-as-a-service model and costs $750 per seat per year, according to Soward. A typical implementation takes six to eight days and costs $5,000 to $20,000. For more information, visit www.adaptiveplanning.com.
