AAM Hires Jayla Boire as CEO

The Association for Accounting Marketing has named a new CEO, Jayla Boire, a marketing consultant, to run the organization after a long search process.

“Our CEO search was an exhaustive process,” said AAM president Katie Tolin, who is director of practice growth at Ohio-based Rea & Associates. “Jayla clearly showed us that she was the type of person we needed to drive AAM’s strategy to increase member value, develop industry relationships and grow the presence of AAM in the accounting industry.”

Most recently, Boire ran her own consulting company, The Right Idea, where she assisted businesses, including CPA firms, with their marketing strategy as an adjunct CMO in the executive suite. She has also worked for Fortune 100 companies and held agency leadership roles in technology and healthcare companies.

“Jayla has marketing, leadership and executive experience that will transfer well to her role with AAM,”Tolin said in a statement. “In addition to working with some of the leading accounting firms in Delaware, she’s implemented both strategic planning and growth initiatives for organizations in a wide variety of industries. As a consultant and entrepreneur, she’s had to re-define and adjust, which will be essential as she helps shape this new role.”

A taskforce comprising AAM board members helped with the nationwide CEO search. The process included three rounds of interviews culminating in an in-person presentation of the candidate’s plans for AAM for the first year, employment testing and background and reference checks. At the end of the four-and-a-half-month process, the taskforce made a recommendation to the board that Boire be hired, and the motion passed unanimously.

“I’m ready to apply my knowledge, energy and experience to AAM’s strategic plans for growth and expansion,” said Boire. “I look forward to meeting the members as well as industry leaders so I can begin making an immediate impact.”

Boire holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware. She is active in her community serving on the board of Girls, Inc. and as vice president of Variety, the Children’s Charity. She also volunteers at the Sunday Breakfast Mission. Professionally, Boire is a member of the National Speakers Association.
