Armanino Expands Dynamics Biz with 1 Source Buy

San Ramon, Calif. (August 30, 2010)

By Seth Fineberg

Armanino Consulting, the tech consulting arm of Armanino McKenna LLC, has expanded its West Coast presence and Dynamics reseller business through the purchase of San Jose.-based 1 Source Solutions.

Tom Mescall

The purchase will add nearly 30 staff members and offices in Portland, Ore., and Seattle. More significantly, the move allows Armanino to grow its Dynamics AX reseller business, which it added earlier this year.

“We refocused our business on software and consulting,” said Armanino Consulting partner-in-charge Tom Mescall. “Hardware was a component, but we pretty much shuttered that end of the business. It was good revenue, but we were not seeing the margins we wanted, so we renewed our focus on business applications and consulting. This [purchase] is a big opportunity for us to take our Microsoft partnership and expand aggressively to all West Coast states.”

Mescall also noted that with the buy, Armanino will be able to service clients in California, Hawaii, Oregon, Washington and Colorado.

1 Source was doing business as Fullscope West, with offices in San Jose and Portland, Ore. All staff members will remain, while former 1 Source executives Bruce Kirschenbaum and Chris Moore will become new partners within Armanino Consulting.

“I believe Armanino has been a ‘Best Places to Work’ company for the past six years for a reason,” said Moore. “Its team is extremely entrepreneurial, dynamic and passionate about servicing clients. Along with our entire organization, I am so pleased to be joining such a great firm. Our deep ERP, technology and manufacturing experience is a great complement to Armanino’s consulting services. Combining our efforts will also allow us to provide an even higher level and breadth of services to our clients.”

In 2009, Armanino Consulting posted revenue of $5.87 million with three offices and a staff of 25, earning the firm a ranking of 54 in the Accounting Today VAR 100 report.
