CCH plans to integrate ProSystem fx Engagement and ProSystem fx Knowledge Coach with Microsoft SQL Server 2012.

Both systems will add support for SQL Server 2012 with an enhanced released due out this summer, according to CCH. ProSystem fx Engagement can be used by audit engagement teams to import raw client data, prepare adjustments, create financial statements and export completed data to tax returns. It also functions as the central location for tracking, reporting, review, sign-off and archiving.  The updated Engagement system will support SQL Server 2008, along with SQL Server 2012. Users will benefit from more efficient data backup protection, leveraging independent failover servers and provisions for mitigating data server disruptions.

ProSystem fx Knowledge Coach is a planning tool, workpaper generator, audit workflow management application and risk overseer all rolled into one. Interactive features helps auditors move quickly through the planning process, automatically linking risks to program steps, and flowing information through the workpapers on the fly. Knowledge Coach advises when more documentation is needed, alerts when something has been missed, and manages reviews and sign-offs.

Additional functionality and convenience tools in Knowledge Coach include direct linking of risks to procedures, ensuring all risks have been properly addressed. Data can be entered once to flow across all workpapers. Future changes also flow automatically. The software rolls forward prior-period engagements and merges in updated content to save time; and saves answers to questions, custom program steps and risks as templates so they can be used for other clients and similar engagements. Knowledge Coach also leverages drilldowns, links and answer guidance to see the details of all actions and recommendations.

SQL Server 2012 is a new version of Microsoft’s database technology featuring high-availability support and semantic business intelligence.
