By Michael Cohn

CPA firm liability insurance provider Camico has introduced a Subpoena Services Resource Center with online information for CPA firms facing subpoenas.

The Subpoena Services Resource Center provides information, resources and template letters pertaining to subpoenas, including a “Frequently Asked Questions” document as well as related materials on Internal Revenue Service and Treasury regulations. The Resource Center augments services currently offered to policyholders by the firm, including a claims hotline for individual assistance.

Camico claims specialists help policyholders deal with several hundred subpoenas per year, advising policyholders on how to comply with rules and regulations intended to protect client confidentiality. No claim or potential claim is required for a policyholder firm to access unlimited use of the company’s subpoena services.

“Facing a subpoena can be a daunting situation, and our Subpoena Services Resource Center is intended to assist policyholders while giving them a better understanding of what to expect,” said Camico vice president of claims Hillary J. Bates in a statement. “With this additional benefit, policyholders now have even more tools to help them minimize professional liability risk and manage their practices.”

In addition to subpoena assistance, Camico offers policyholders other practice management tools that can be used to protect CPAs from potential claims, including a loss prevention hotline, a tax advice hotline, an accounting and auditing hotline, and pre-claim and claim assistance.
