Guilmartin, DiPiro & Sokolowski LLC of Middletown, Conn., and Hamden, Conn.-based Lipman & Co. PC have merged.

Lipman principals Michael Lipman and Cathy Forsberg are now part of GDS’s staff. Lipman focuses on tax preparation for small businesses and business owners, as well as accounting. Forsberg specializes in nonprofit auditing as well as general business accounting and business tax return preparation.

“The merger will help us to expand our capabilities in the Greater New Haven region and enhance our ability to provide the highest levels of specialized expertise to our clients,” GDS partner Mike Sokolowski said in a statement.
