ILLINOIS

Crowe Horwath LLP, Chicago, has introduced the Crowe K-1 Navigator, a tool that helps streamline tax-reporting processes. Schedule K-1s are required to report investor allocations to owners of flow-through entities which are legal business entities such as partnerships and S-corporations that pass income on to the owners or investors.

MARYLAND

KatzAbosch, Baltimore, has launched its third season of their irreverent animated sketches called 'Gotta Love Tax Season'.  The first episode can be found on their YouTube channel.

BST, an Albany-based financial and management consulting firm has raised over $43,000 for victims of Hurricane Sandy. The money was raised through employee donations that were matched by the partner group. A portion of the funds raised went to assist employees of the firm’s New York City office who were affected by the storm. The funds were pooled and administered by the partner-in-charge of the New York City office. Employees also donated vacation and sick time that was used by those that were affected.  Unused funds will be donated to the Red Cross. … The Bonadio Group, Rochester, will host its third annual Construction Summit West on Thursday, March 28, at the RIT Inn & Conference Center in Henrietta, N.Y. … Pivotal Captive Consulting LLC, Jericho, has been formed to assist professionals and their clients in the
assessment of feasibility, design and implementation of a very successful risk management and wealth preservation strategy involving Captive Insurance Companies. … WeiserMazars LLP, New York, released its first U.S. Food & Beverage Industry Study. Survey participants – which were drawn from companies across the food and beverage industry – are confident sales will increase 13 percent compared to 2011 and project net profits to rise by almost 6 percent. OHIO

Skoda Minotti’s strategic marketing group is hosting an educational seminar and lunch event, titled, “Trade Show Marketing Strategies – How to Find Qualified Leads in the Crowd.”  The seminar is one of the several topics that will be discussed in the monthly 2013 Skoda Minotti Speakers Series. The event will occur on Thursday, March 14 at the Employer’s Resource Council, and will feature John Kallmeyer, director of visual marketing in the firm’s strategic marketing group.
