HSMC Orizon Seals Its 1st Deal

The newly merged firm added G. Randall Hansen and his team to the mix.

Omaha, Neb. (November 26, 2012)

By Tamika Cody

HSMC Orizon LLC has brought Rand Hansen and his associates from G. Randall Hansen, CPA PC on board.

The new combination took place nearly six weeks after HSMC Companies and Orizon CPAs became one and took on the name HSMC Orizon. (see HSMC and Orizon Complete Merger).

Adding Rand to the mix will give the firm 46 employees.

Rand Hansen established the firm in 1985 and focuses on assisting entrepreneurial businesses with accounting, part-time CFO services such as budgeting and tax planning and consulting. “Over the years I have worked with entrepreneurs who needed guidance to help them achieve their dreams. Moving my practice to HSMC Orizon will give clients exposure to additional resources including audits, business and technology services with a growing firm in the Midwest,” Hansen said in a statement.

Gene Garrelts, president of HSMC Orizon, added "Having known Rand for 20 years certainly helped. When culture, values and goals line up, blending these firms tends to be an easier deal."

The addition of G. Randall Hansen is just the tip of the iceberg for HSMC Orizon. Garrelts stated that the firm will continue to bulk up. "We are looking to acquire firms that fit our firm’s visions and goals," Garrelts explained.

HSMC Orizon is in the midst of developing a turnkey, cloud-based suite of products that will provide entrepreneurs and start ups with an environment to access tools and resources for a minimal fee essentially eliminating upfront costs associated with starting a business. “Rand’s deep experience with entrepreneurs and start up organizations is perfect for the launch of these new services,” said Garrelts.
