Johnstone Graydon & Thompson and Scott and Co. Plan to Merge

Johnstone, Graydon & Thompson CPAs PA of Greenville, S.C., and Scott and Co. LLC of Columbia, have announced their plans to merge.

Financial terms of the deal were undisclosed, but both of the firms' management teams have already voted to approve the merger. The deal is expected to close on June 30, 2013.

[IMGCAP(1)] "We have known them for years through business and civic circles, and are excited to work together to continue providing clients with the exceptional service and technical expertise that the combined firm can provide," Scott and Co.’s managing partner Don Mobley said in a statement.

The newly combined firm will operate under the Scott and Co. brand, and all members of each firm’s Greenville offices will combine in a single Greenville location.

Scott and Co. will gain roughly 15 professionals in the upstate office and more than 30 throughout the state of South Carolina. In addition, JGT founder Bill Johnstone, who is approaching retirement, will continue to serve a limited number of clients and mentor younger staff in the combined firm.

The two firms provide audit and assurance, tax and a variety of consulting services to privately held companies within the health care, real estate, government, manufacturing, professional services and nonprofit sectors.
