Man Accuses IRS Agent of Sexually Harassing Him

Fall Creek, Ore. (February 7, 2013)

By Michael Cohn

An Oregon man has filed suit against a female Internal Revenue Service agent whom he accused of coercing him into having sex with her in exchange for avoiding an unfavorable tax audit.

Vincent Burroughs, 40, of Fall Creek, Ore., claimed that Dora Abrahamson, 38, called him in August 2011 to tell him he was going to be audited. She informed him that “she knew who he was, and that it was lucky for him that this was the case, and that they should meet,” according to local newspaper The Register-Guard. He did not remember her, according to his lawsuit, but she allegedly called to offered him massages and sent him flirtatious text messages, along with a photo of her wearing only her undergarments.

Burroughs claimed he initially did not respond to her phone calls and messages until she arrived at his door "provocatively attired" in September 2011 and demanded to have sex with him.

“She told [Burroughs] that she could be a bitch, or that she could be nice,” according to the lawsuit. “She said that she could impose no penalty, or a 40 percent penalty, and that if he would give her what she wanted, she would give him what he needed.”

Burroughs filed suit against both Abrahamson and the federal government for unspecified damages, alleging that the IRS inadequately supervised her. He claimed that her advances led to a rift in his relationship with his significant other, violated his right to privacy and caused him emotional distress.
