Marcum Search, a member of the Marcum Group of Companies, has acquired the North American offices of executive search firm Horton International LLC.

Richard Paris

Richard Paris, founder and president of Marcum Search, launched the firm in 2008. In light of the deal, Paris has been chosen to lead Marcum’s recruiting division as CEO.

Horton’s U.S. business is headquartered in Hartford, Conn. and has offices in Boston, Charlotte, N.C., New York City and Philadelphia, all of which are now part of Marcum Search.

“Marcum’s diverse holdings in accounting, wealth management, technology, investment banking and, of course, executive recruiting make it a strong strategic fit for Horton International,” Horton’s managing partner Bob Gilchrist said in a statement.  “This relationship with Marcum will provide Horton International increased resources and a greater geographic footprint for our domestic and global clients.”

Gilchrist and Horton’s managing partner Larry Brown will both stay with the firm to direct the growth and the expansion of Horton International operations in the U.S.

“The acquisition of Horton International will enhance the services offered by our recruiting division and will give Marcum Search global resources and local market expertise to help our clients retain the most qualified professionals,” Marcum managing partner Jeffrey Weiner said in a statement.  “It also deepens our roots in Connecticut, where we have full-service accounting and advisory offices in Hartford and New Haven.”
