CHINA

Drew Bernstein, co-managing partner of Marcum Bernstein & Pinchuk, participated as a judge in the Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship's 8th Annual China Business Plan Competition, which took place at Peking University in China.

CALIFORNIA

Steven Combs, David Forman and Sean Thorstenson were promoted to partners at White Nelson Diehl Evans LLP, Irvine. …Farah Faruqui joined PwC’s risk assurance practice as direct-admit partner in its San Jose office. Prior to PwC, Faruqui worked at Deloitte LLP for 18 years in its risk advisory services and financial audit practices where she served as the Silicon Valley Internal Audit Technology Industry Leader. … Robin Steinmetz has joined HMWC CPAs & Business Advisors, Tustin, as a manager in the firm’s health care services department. … Margaret Lip has been promoted to managing director at WTAS LLC, San Francisco. Lip initially joined the firm in 2002 as a senior associate in the private client services practice and has more than 12 years of experience in tax. The San Francisco office of WTAS made several other promotions and new hires. Hazel Dolio Tag-at, Brendan Love, and Megan Williams were promoted to director. Shaun Dublin joined the office as director in the firm’s private client services practice. William Long, Brian Hagerty, Kane Duncan, Kathryn Dery, Michael Barrett and Christy Peterson were promoted to managers; and Jarryd Johnson, Jonathan French, Lu Shan Li, Michelle Zetah and Winnie Lai were promoted to senior associates: Christopher Eulau was promoted to senior associate in WTAS’ Palo Alto office. In Los Angeles, WTAS hired Kurt Heinrichson as managing director in the firm’s State and Local Tax Practice. Prior to WTAS, Heinrichson worked at Deloitte Tax LLC as a tax partner. R.J. Starr was recently promoted to managing director in WTAS’ Los Angeles office after seven years of service with the valuation services practice. Starr has more than 12 years of experience in delivering valuation analyses to both individuals and corporate enterprises. The L.A. office also promoted Brian Reichert to director; Daniel Roberts and Nick Kuo to senior managers; Chantha Dinelli and Humayun Riaz to managers; and David Amurao, Jeremy Marcus and Vince Ying to senior associates.

COLORADO

Nichole Kubly, Paul Masar and Danielle Scholl were promoted to managers at BKD LLP, Denver.

FLORIDA

M3 Accounting Services, the accounting, operations reporting and business analytics software provider, has established its Customer Advisory Board. Board members include Michael Attenborough, Dr. Cihan Cobanoglu, Neil Cohen, David Emery, Aimee Fyke, Jack Fritsche and Randy Meyer.

GEORGIA

Mike Reynolds has joined Moore Colson, Atlanta, as a business assurance senior Associate. Prior to Moore Colson, Reynolds, was an associate for at Chatham Capital where he was responsible for underwriting, legal documentation and deal negotiations in the debt funding of private equity sponsored transactions. Evelyn Poulos, a senior manager at Moore Colson, Atlanta, was presented with the Moore Colson Peak Award.Moore Colson, Atlanta, made a few new hires throughout the firm. Eric Chism joins the firm as a tax associate, Sarah Boehmig and Natalie Jett joins as a tax interns while Sara-Alison Massey joins as a business assurance intern.

 

ILLINOIS

Beth Ulbrich and Jodi Seelye were promoted to directors at Mueller & Co. LLP, Elgin. Michael Becker and John Fedus were promoted to partners. … Sean Bruen has been promoted to director at WTAS LLC, Chicago. Bruen has over 11 years of business experience and practices in the firm’s commercial services practice. The Chicago office also promoted Daniel Moore to manager and Stephanie Payne to senior associate.  

MARYLAND

Michael Uong has been promoted to audit supervisor at Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell PC, Bethesda. … Jennifer R. Wilcox has been promoted to a senior accountant at DeLeon & Stang CPAs and Advisors in Gaithersburg.

MASSACHUSETTS

George Neble has been appointed managing partner at Ernst & Young LLP’s Boston office. Neble succeeds Frank Mahoney who recently took on a global role as an audit leader with the firm. Neble joined Ernst & Young in 2002 as a partner. … WTAS LLC has made several promotions in its Boston office. John Nestor, Kellie Neuhaus, and Melinda Tuffy were promoted to directors in private client services while Sandrine Benevides was promoted to director in the investment consulting services practice. Caitlin Gardner and Shannon O’Neil were promoted to managers; while Lee Ann Mello and Elizabeth Richmond were promoted to senior associates.

MICHIGAN

Jeffery Allen, and Brandy Terwilliger were promoted to senior managers at Maner Costerisan PC, Lansing.

Fay returns to the firm as principal after working as a chief compliance officer for financial services firm. Reynolds joined as a director and previously worked as a chief risk officer at Barclays’ Wealth Americas. … Dr. Glenn George, an energy economist and consultant, and Dr. Richard Bergin, a financial economist, have joined KPMG LLP’s forensic services as principals.
