Eric Pulse has joined Eide Bailly LLP as a director in the firm’s risk advisory services. Partners at the firm also re-elected for a second one-year term, partner Mark Martens as chair of the board and partner Linda Koerselman as vice chair of the board.

J. Philip Hofmann III has partnered with SS&G Inc., Cleveland, where he will provide consulting services in the firm’s restaurant services group. He will assist client with tax compliance, conflict resolution and thought leadership issues. … Skoda Minotti Technology has made several new hires throughout the firm. Paul Tuttle joins the firm as a business development director, while Bob Evans and Donald Jones joins as client network engineers III. … Bill Haring has joined technology solutions provider, BCG Systems Inc., Akron, as a desktop support technician for the firm. He will mainly be responsible for supporting the BCG Systems Network Assurance program and clients. 

PENNSYLVANIA

Michael Zyborowicz, a director at Citrin Cooperman in Philadelphia, was recognized as a Certified Franchise Executive by the Institute of Certified Franchise Executives.

SOUTH CAROLINA

Mike McGuigan, a shareholder at Elliott Davis LLC was recognized as a finalist for the United Way of Greenville County’sYoung Philanthropists Mentor of the Year” award. … Ryan LaBrooy has joined Scott and Co. LLC, Columbia and Greenville, as an associate accountant in the firm’s tax and advisory services group.

TENNESSEE

Shannon Farr has been promoted to director in the health care valuation practice of Decosimo, Chattanooga. The firm also appointed long-time tax principal John Henegar, as tax director. The decision to appoint Henegar to this post was made when the firm’s former tax director Lynn Rodgers, relinquished the responsibility and took a temporary sabbatical during the 4th quarter of 2012. … April Mitchell transferred to Lattimore Black Morgan & Cain PC’s, Knoxville office after working in its Nashville office for five years. Lucas Gates has joined the firm as a manager in the security and risk services department.

TEXAS

Edward Kleinguetl and Traci Twardowski have joined Grant Thornton LLP as managing director and director, respectively. The two will work in the firm’s Transaction Advisory Services practice in Houston. … Justin Munns and Jason Young have joined Condley and Co., Abilene, as a tax accountant and tax senior, respectively. … SolomonEdwardsGroup LLC made a few new hires throughout the firm.  Jay Catalfamo joined the firm as a director. Prior to SEG, he spent 15 years with Freddie Mac. John Cipriano also joined the firm as a director after spending years in ownership and management roles for a number of mortgage banking companies. Jeff Wise joined the firm as a director after working as a senior risk manager at Fannie Mae, Wells Fargo and JPM Chase.

WASHINGTON

Steve Brilling has joined Clark Nuber, Bellevue, as a director in the firm’s family business practice. Prior to Clark Nuber, Brilling worked as an executive director at Seattle University’s Entrepreneurship Center. He remains affiliated with Seattle University, leading its Family Business Program which focuses on both seasoned executives as well as next generation leaders.

WASHINGTON D.C.

The Internal Revenue Service selected 26 new members to serve on the nationwide Taxpayer Advocacy Panel. TAP is a federal advisory committee charged with providing taxpayer suggestions to improve IRS customer service. The new TAP members will join 51 returning members to round out the panel of 77 volunteers for 2013. The new members were selected from almost 400 interested individuals from across the country who applied during an open recruitment period last spring or the pool of alternate members who applied in prior years. For a full list of the new members visit IRS.gov. … Marc Staut was promoted to principal and chief information officer at CohnReznick LLP, Bethesda. … Zachary Reichenbach has been promoted to senior associate at Ellin & Tucker, Chartered, Baltimore. Steven Manekin, a director in the firm’s audit, accounting and consulting department, was named one of Baltimore’s 2013 FIVE STAR Wealth Managers in the Business Planning/Tax Advisor category by Five Star Professional in a special section of Baltimore Magazine’s February, 2013 issue. … Barbara Van Allen has joined the Center for Audit Quality as a senior director of stakeholder relations. Van Allen joins the CAQ from the Mortgage Bankers Association, where she worked as senior vice president, marketing and communications. Van Allen reports directly to CAQ executive director Cindy Fornelli. … Timothy McCormally has joined KPMG LLP, as a director in the firm's Washington National Tax Practice. Prior to joining KPMG, McCormally worked as executive director of the Tax Executives Institute, an association of tax professionals which currently has 7,000 members representing 3,000 of the largest companies across the United States, Canada, Europe, and Asia. … Bob Moritz, PwC US chairman, presented Michelle Obama with the envelope for Best Picture at the Oscars.

WISCONSIN
